Rebeca & Mark's Lombardi House Wedding

In today’s blog, we’ll walk you through Rebeca and Mark’s special weekend at the Lombardi House. This was one of our wedding management clients, meaning that this couple would be doing all of the planning beforehand, while we offer our resources and assistance starting 3-4 months before the wedding date. On event day, we come in, use our knowledge and prep work to accomplish your vision, coordinate, and make sure our couples are enjoying their special day.

Our weekend began on Friday(the day before the wedding) when our P.S. team members met with the bridal party at the venue for rehearsal. The bride and groom also did a final walkthrough of decor for our team.

The charming Lombardi House is located in Hollywood, California. This gated property transports you from the commotion of L.A. to the comforts of Old Hollywood. The property can sleep up to twenty-eight people comfortably, or on occasions like this, hold a large group throughout the entire venue. The perfect spot for a weekend of festivities.

The day began at nine in the morning, when the bride and bridesmaids started glam with Jenny Bouton. We had a team member on-site monitoring parking and arrival time of the bridal party. As the day moved forward, the rest of our team arrived.

It's now noon, and our team is awaiting the arrival of our groom, Mark, and his groomsmen, and our rental team from La Pinata. Our team then splits up to be stationed with the bride and groom, to be sure they are kept separate. The rest of the team is assisting La Pinata with the unloading of rentals and the installation of decor. We begin checking over items like the guest list, table numbers, and favors while counting rentals such as linens, tables, and chairs. We would hate to be short a chair or table.... that's a complete no-no.

In the next hour, our photographer, Andrew Ho, arrives. He immediately goes into the bride's getting ready photos and then into Mark and Rebeca’s first look. We often find that a private, early first look is a great option for many of our clients. This will create more time for bridal party photos and immediate family photos. For this event, we were able to knock both out before the ceremony had even begun. Our team is able to assist the photographer, using the rapport we have built with both sides of the bridal party throughout the day. Using a premade shot list, our team will gather the necessary bridal party and family members and get them prepped for their photos. While this is going on, our DJ, Ken Mackie of MES Entertainment is setting up for both the ceremony and reception. He is sure to mic up our officiant and place speakers in a spot that is both aesthetically appealing and practical.

The property featured a main house, a lawn, and a barn. The main house was to be used by bridal parties throughout the day, prep space for serving, bartending, and the catering team, as well as restroom facilities for the event. The barn was used for the ceremony and the lawn for the reception. Their ceremony space featured lots of greenery, varying from hanging plants to large shrubs in pots. Their welcome table featured a display of the many notes the two lovebirds have sent each other throughout the years, a card box, and a sign-in book. As our catering team from La Cabanita began setting up for dinner, the majority of the P.S. Team was over at the ceremony awaiting the start. Using our walkie-talkie superpowers, the team is able to carefully queue the members of the bridal party from start to finish.

The I Do's are now complete and guests and bridal parties go into cocktail hour. Bride and Groom have just a few more photos to take with their family. During this time, our team is moving chairs over from the ceremony site to our dinner tables. This is what we call ‘the flip’, using the same chairs for ceremonies can save a lot of money on your rental order. This flip is made super simple with our team’s assistance. After an hour of chit-chatting, drinks from the bar, and munching on the charcuterie board, our DJ announces that it's time to take your seats for dinner.

This reception featured the most beautiful, long, wood tables, with a stunning runner of greenery going down the middle. The table decor included acrylic table numbers, the cutest bamboo forks. and tie-dyed linen napkins that Rebeca hand dyed. With the beautiful glassware provided by La Pinata, we had the most gorgeous table layout. The Bride, Groom, and their Bridal Party entered in rock and roll style to the Black Keys. After a beautiful first dance, speeches, and a cake cutting the DJ announced for everyone to follow the bride and groom back into the barn for dancing.

In lieu of a savory late-night bite, the couple opted for a nighttime sweet. An ice cream truck from Carmela’s Ice Cream arrived, parked for two hours, and offered guests a selection of their delectable ice cream flavors. Guests danced the night away and ended the night with a sparkler send-off. Once guests were headed out, our team was able to strike the event and pack up the bride and groom’s UHaul for the next morning. The bride and groom spent the night on the property, able to wind down after their successful event.

We loved working with Mark and Rebeca and hope that walking you through their wedding helps you to better understand our wedding management package!
